Privacy Policy
Flowtrace collects nothing. It has no server to send data to, no account to create, and no analytics or advertising SDK inside it.
What stays on your device
| Data | Where it lives |
|---|---|
| Your recordings — the steps you captured, including selectors, URLs, and any text you typed into a form during recording | A file in the app's private storage on your iPhone. It is included in your iCloud or iTunes device backup, because that is how iOS backs up app data. We never receive it. |
| Settings — such as whether you have seen the intro | Standard iOS app preferences on your device |
| Generated code | Produced on the device from your recording, and only leaves it when you copy it yourself |
Deleting a recording in the app deletes it from that file. Deleting the app removes all of it.
Browsing inside the app
Flowtrace includes a browser so it can watch what you do. When you open a website in it, your iPhone connects to that website directly, exactly as Safari would. We do not proxy, log, or inspect that traffic — it never passes through any system of ours, because we do not operate one.
The websites you visit can still see you, set their own cookies, and apply their own privacy policies. That relationship is between you and them.
Password fields are deliberately excluded from recording. Flowtrace will not read a password field's contents and will not store one in a recording. Note that other text you type — an email address, a name, a search term — is saved as part of the step, on your device, so the flow can be replayed.
Purchases
Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. Flowtrace never sees your payment details. It only asks iOS whether a valid purchase exists on the device in order to unlock Pro features.
Children
Flowtrace is a developer tool and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If a future version of Flowtrace ever sends data off your device — for example an optional cloud sync — this policy will be updated before that version ships, the App Store privacy label will be updated to match, and the app will ask you first. We will not quietly change what leaves your phone.
